We prayed for a miracle which God granted in heaven. Daily we walk the path of grief, ever leaning on Jesus for our comfort. Until we meet again Millie, always remember you are forever loved and missed!

Deepest Sorrows and Greatest Joys

Deepest Sorrows and Greatest Joys in life seem to come hand in hand.

Losing Millie was a deep sorrow. Meeting other families walking through the same thing was a great joy in knowing we are not alone.
I have often shared about the other little girls in the angel pictures with Millie. Ady, Millie, and Levy were beautiful ‘angels’ in their dresses. They were also great warriors as they fought cancer. Each girl’s journey was similar yet very different.
The type of treatments they endured were similar, but more so for Ady and Millie both having Neuroblastoma. Levy had leukemia, ALL.
The side effects were similar for all three girls. From losing their beautiful hair, to being incredibly sick, losing weight, and being immune compromised.
Both Millie and Ady had the external Broviacs hanging from their chests.
Ady and Levy had the port placed just under their skin to access for treatment.
Millie and Ady both lost their hearing and needed hearing aids.
Cancer is rough on these kids!
There is another thing that happened with all three girls. Each family held a bell ringing ceremony for our tiny fighters. Again similar, but different.
We rang Millie’s bell at her funeral to signify that she had beat cancer and earned her healing {in heaven}.
Both Ady and Levy rang their bells in front of a crowd of supporters who loudly cheered for them being healed from cancer {on earth}.
The similarities again are that these girls’ parents cried with us during Millie’s bell ringing; we cried with them at their bell ringing ceremonies. Yes, our tears were different, but they all held traces of the memories, the pain, the triumphs, and the finality of our cancer journey.

A good work has been started. Each girl has a story to share, which becomes a testimony of God’s goodness. They are loved by him. Please join me in praying that as Jesus continues to do this good work in them, that they continue to give him all the praise and glory for their precious lives. Pray and believe that God has completely healed them from their cancer. Claim the vision that they will never encounter cancer again and that God will continue the work done in their lives to use their healing to draw others to him.
“ I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
always in my every prayer for you all making request with joy,
for your fellowship in the Gospel from the first day until now,
being confident of this very thing, that He who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ.” ~Phillipians 1: 3-6
Being invited to Leavyn’s bell ringing was the completion in my heart of seeing these girls healed! I am so grateful that her mommy has become a dear friend of mine. She placed Millie’s photos within Leavyn’s slide show to represent how Millie was part of Leavyn’s story. The beautiful slide show brought tears to my eyes as I praised the Lord for preserving Leavyn’s life, as I encountered all our girls battled again, and as I missed my little one. Life’s greatest joys often walk hand in hand with the deepest sorrows. I can still hear Millie’s sweet voice in my mind saying, “That’s okay mama. It’s okay.” My answer is, “Yes baby girl, that’s okay!”
{Tears are the evidence that we have loved deeply… because of Millie.}
