We prayed for a miracle which God granted in heaven. Daily we walk the path of grief, ever leaning on Jesus for our comfort. Until we meet again Millie, always remember you are forever loved and missed!

Neuroblastoma National Awareness Day 2022

Neuroblastoma National Awareness Day is February 2, 2022.
This is a day to promote awareness and research into this devastating childhood cancer.
Neuroblastoma is a cancer of the sympathetic nervous system; this is the message network between your brain and other parts of the body. Neuroblastoma is the most common type of solid tumor in children under the age of five years, the average age of diagnosis is two years old.
Children diagnosed often face a horrific treatment plan to beat their cancer which includes, surgery, radiation therapy, MIBG therapy, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant, immunotherapy, and research trials.
As a result of the aggressive treatments used children often develop long term side effects such as hearing loss, learning difficulties, heart conditions, organ toxicity, growth and hormonal deficiencies, infertility, and secondary cancers if they survive. (copied)
However, many children do not survive this cancer. Millie fought Neuroblastoma for a year. She suffered through many treatments and side effects. She is not alone! This cancer is deadly and steals so many of our kids. Raising awareness to sound the alarm. We need better treatments. We can do better for our children!
