There comes a time in the lives of our kids that we cannot make their pain better.
They outgrow us picking them up and kissing their hurts.
Their disappointments are something we can feel with them, but cannot make better for them.
This is when our heart breaks and we simply have to pray and support them.
We had that happen tonight. Our (young) adult daughter drove about 150 miles round trip to shoot a photography session. Afterwards she joined our family for a night of high school football. As she climbed into the car with me, her hands were full and we didn’t see her drop an envelope of cash in the parking lot. When we got to the house it was simply gone.
Daddy and I drove back to check the grass parking area. We cleaned both cars out—nothing! I hope someone is honest and has enough character to turn it into the school.
This is one of those disappointments I can’t fix. This girl has some big goals and works VERY HARD to achieve them. We felt so bad for her we offered her our cash but she’s an adult now—and so she turned us down.
I am proud of the girl we are raising.
Blessings sweet friends…
