We prayed for a miracle which God granted in heaven. Daily we walk the path of grief, ever leaning on Jesus for our comfort. Until we meet again Millie, always remember you are forever loved and missed!

30 Days of Gratitude - Day 19

Homeschooling has been a way of life in the Mount household for a LOT of years. This is actually my 27th November to homeschool somebody. At any given time we had 1-6 kids “doing school”. That has looked like many different things over the many years.
There have been years of textbooks and desks, unit studies and notebooks,
co-ops and sports teams. We have video schooled, online schooled, and traditional schooled. We have used so many different curriculums depending on what our goals were that year AND the needs of the particular child. We have also had 2 sons attend votech, 3 daughters attend private and public schools. Yes our education has been varied around here over the years.
There have been tears (both mine and the children’s). There has been shared JOY as we learn something together. It has never been easy! However I truly am grateful I have gotten to be involved in my kids education.
Today for the first time Little Man, SJ, and I attended a field trip that I have taken every one of our school age children on over the years. We enjoyed a local Children’s museum, then lunch and a park trip with friends. Living life by enjoying what our kids enjoy makes my heart lighter.

The thing I miss is sharing this with Millie. She would be in Kindergarten this year. I thought I still had 13 more years to homeschool—instead Little Man will be done in 10 short years. I wonder as I “retire” from teaching at 57 if the “benefits” will be good? 😉😂 that’s almost 40 years teaching!

Blessings sweet friends…
