We prayed for a miracle which God granted in heaven. Daily we walk the path of grief, ever leaning on Jesus for our comfort. Until we meet again Millie, always remember you are forever loved and missed!

Chemo Round 2

We are settled in and waiting for Chemo Round 2 to begin. Because Daddy was so sick, Mommy brought her to the hospital alone this morning. It went well until we realized that Mommy can only pull the wagon and the suitcase...not carry Millie too. I gave her the choice to walk or ride in the wagon. She was loudly insisting I should carry her throughout the parking garage and into the foyer. Finally I got her distracted looking for the elevator button. She had no problem physically walking, but maybe she had some dread of coming back for another stay. Thankfully the staff at Children’s is so accommodating to our little bear

She came in demanding a plate of pancakes. Guess she was “Hangry”!?! She ate a huge breakfast and is settled down watching PBS.
((We had to wear jackets this morning. It was chilly...in July?!!!)

"Your story is not my story"

Little Man sums it up in this peek into our day...

Everyone is still feeling bad, fevers, etc. To top that off momma (me!) had to find a dr today for a bad bladder infection. I’ve been trying to ignore it and care for her, but couldn’t take the discomfort any longer.
Tomorrow morning we check in for Round 2 of Chemo. A dear friend who lost his son during round 2 some years ago reminded me “your story is not my story”. Something I need to hear and be reminded of often as each new thing stretches our faith. Friends have no doubts, though we KNOW GOD CAN...we are praying he does!
Praises:
💕the availability of medicine for all of us sicklings.
💕Insurance that pays for most of these expenses (deductible met!)
Prayer:
🔹 That Millie tolerates Round 2 as well as she did round 1.
🔹No complications
🔹 Blood counts to rebound quickly
Thank you for praying! Your daily prayers and our FAITH in God is what carries us when we are weak. When we have doubts about the future I’m reminded that you are interceding for us.

I will hold daddy's hand

After we got to clinic this morning Millie developed a fever of 101. We got the standard treatment and are headed home. They are pushing Chemo off until Wednesday of this week. So much info about future treatment plans

...chemo
...surgery
...bone marrow transplant x2
This year will be a day by day walk of faith for our family. Thank you for praying us through it!
Praises:
💕 fever waited until we were in clinic
💕Today Millie has felt well.
💕 Her blood counts were excellent!
Prayer:
🔹 Daddy and brother now are feeling like Millie felt Saturday. We all need to be healthy to care for her. Pray no one else in our big house full gets it.
😊Millie asked “Does Daddy like medicine? I’ll hold his hand”. This is huge for her as every dose of her medicine she says “Don’t like medicine mom!”
🔹Two of Millie’s sisters are on a mission trip cross country. Pray safety over them.

Fevering...

I know many of you are waiting for Millie’s update. She woke this morning feeling better. Ate a little, still rested a lot. This evening she started running a low grade fever. Protocol is we go to the hospital at 101 degrees. She’s been up and down since 5, but has yet to hit 101.

Praises:
💕 No pain today
💕 we had time to get ready for our hospital stay without rushing
Praying:
🔹 Her temperature needs to stay down tonight.
🔹 Her pre-chemo appointment and stem cell transplant meeting is tomorrow. Pray for us to have clarity as we ask questions.
🔹Give peace and remove fear as we head into round 2 of Chemo.

Good Morning Mom!

Millie has had a full and busy day today. She started off by getting out of bed saying “Good morning mom! How are you?” Always so big, I have said this to her for months now and she always parrots it back. Now she says it unprompted. Next, she discovered that daddy had the day off and was still in bed...she promptly climbed on his back to cuddle.

After nap it was time to chore the animals. Millie lives on a farm with cows, a horse, rabbits, and cats. We all took turns loving on Buster, our horse. Then we went out to feed the heifer. Next, we went to play with the rabbits. About that time 3 different carloads of people came to visit. Friends and family...a fun night!
